What is SRRVisa?

The Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV) is a special non-immigrant visa for foreign nationals who want to live in the Philippines as their second home or as an investment destination. The Philippine Retirement Authority provides various SRRV options based on the retiree applicant’s background and needs.

The minimum age has been raised to 50 years old (based on PRA Advisory 01-05-21 dated 12 May 2021).

Depending on your lifestyle, qualifications, and retirement status, the SRRV program (also known as the SRRVISA) provides a variety of options for which you can apply:

SRRV SMILE

For active and healthy retirees who choose to keep their SRR Visa deposit of $20,000 in any of the PRA Accredited Banks.

SRRV CLASSIC

For active and healthy retirees who choose to use their SRR Visa deposit into an active investment such as but not limited to purchase of condominium unit, long-term house lease, and among others.

SRRV HUMAN TOUCH

For retirees having poor health conditions from the age of 50 and above who need medical or clinical care.

SRRV COURTESY

For former Filipinos and foreign nationals from the age of 50 and above who are retired officers of International Organizations recognized by the  Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

SRRV EXPANDED COURTESY

For foreign nationals from the age of 50 and above who are retired Armed Force officers of foreign countries with existing military ties or agreements with the Philippine’s Government.

Required Documents for SRRVisa

To apply for a Philippines retirement visa, you must collect the following documents:

  • An original and valid passport with an updated Temporary Visitor’s Visa.
  • Completed PRA Application Form.
  • Original and valid medical clearance.
  • Original and valid clean criminal records from your home country and an additional NBI clearance (if you have stayed in the Philippines for over 30 days).
  • Eight photographs in the 2-inch by 2-inch format.
  • An inwardly remitted SRR visa deposit.
  • Proof of paid fee.
  • Marriage certificate for accompanying dependent spouse.
  • Birth certificate for accompanying dependent child.

Additional requirements may be requested depending on the SRR Visa option applied.

Note: All documents issued outside the Philippines must be translated into English and authenticated by the nearest Philippine’s Embassy/Consular Office.

How Can I Apply for a Retirement Visa in the Philippines?

To retire as an expat in the Philippines, you must first sign up in the SRRV Retirement Program. The following are the procedures for applying a retirement visa in the Philippines:
